Hey Everyone, Im Nesika one of the Dental Hygienist at The Curve Dental Clinic

I grew up in my home town of Sunderland in North-East of England UK, it was a lovey place to be brought living right next to a beach but just not so lucky with the English weather!
so this makes me a Mackem not a Geordie!! haha! I am one of four so it was lovely to grow up and have friends in two older brothers and a little sister.

I studied at Newcastle Dental School and University where I qualified in 2008 as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist.
Previously, before attending university, I was a dental assistant so my experience in dentistry is about 17 years now (this makes me feel old!!)

My favorite part of my job as a Dental Hygienist is seeing the reactions of patients at the end of their appointment after both scale and polishes and teeth whitening. I love to see their smile widen, their confidence grow and to know they will be smiling more in general day today.
I also love to help educate patients on the importance of oral health and clean of the out at home. it can make such a massive impact on bot oral health, general health and mental health.

Outside work I am very keen to try and keep fit for body and mind. I love to swim in the pool and work out in the gym but have just signed up to try the Boxcia classes! I love boxing classes. I think it is such a good stress relief and release of those endorphins!

Hobby to empty my mind is walking with my ear pods in listening to music

A healthy habit I try to stick to is daily exercise not only for the body physically but mind – so manifestations and meditation.
I also try to do this to lift my mood or relieve stress and to be around friends.

I am not much of a cook but I do try and my favorite recipe to share is Reece’s Chocolate pieces – from Bake It Easy by Eloise H
these are so naughty but so nice! Sweet treat for special occasions

Things I try to avoid are – over thinking or over worry as it doesn’t help anything or change anything.

My real life hero’s are my parents. My dad has sadly passed away now but they were married 50 years – total relationship goals for me! They are always super supportive and believed in following your dreams and to work hard for what you want from life.

My greatest extravagance is probably my move to Dubai not knowing anyone but starting a new life for myself and surviving driving in Dubai Traffic! :0)

My mottos I use are …

don’t worry. be happy
everything happens for a reason.
Life is too short, buy the shoes, eat the cake!
We cant always chose the music life plays for us but we can chose how we dance to it
