Let’s make your dental health a priority!
Here are some oral hygiene instructions for your little one from Dr. Marianna:
- Brush the teeth 2 times a day, one in the morning and one at night, for at least 2 mins each time.
- After night brush no food nor drinks only water.
- Use toothpaste that has fluoride according to the child’s age or as per doctor’s recommendations.
- Use a medium strength bristles toothbrush, unless otherwise recommended by the doctor.
- Try to limit sugar intake to 2 times a week. If you are home brush again immediately after sugary intake or if you are not swish with some water.
- Don’t forget to come back for your recommended recall visit!

Here are some post operative tips for wound care after the extraction:
- Avoid biting/pinching the lips/cheeks on the extraction site.
- The anesthetic effect will take about 1-2 more hours to go away.
- Change the gauze every 10 minutes for a total of 30 minutes, fold it and bite the gaze down on the extraction site.
- Avoid hot /spicy food /drinks.
- Do not use a straw.
- Do not brush or rinse your teeth today.
- From tomorrow onward everything is back to normal
